Hari Raya is a most important occasion celebrated by all Muslims in the world. In fact, "Hari Raya" means "day of celebration". Hari Raya Puasa is often mistaken to be the Muslim New Year by non-Muslims, but this is not correct.
Hari Raya is actually the traditional end of the fasting month also known as Ramadan. Hari Raya falls on Friday June 15 in 2018, so you can have a full stretch of 3 days of sheer endless holiday bliss on wonderful Tioman Island.
Either way, we recommend that you book both your hotel accommodation and your ferry in advance for Hari Raya Puasa, because June is one of the busiest months of the year in Tioman.
As Hari Raya Puasa falls within this heavy-traffic season this 2018, we expect demand for hotel rooms and ferry tickets to be particularly high for this year's Hari Raya Puasa period.
In addition, as Hari Raya Puasa is the time for Malay families to celebrate together, some of the family-run hostels and chalets in Tioman may be closed for a week or more during Hari Raya Puasa, which consequently lowers the supply of available rooms in Tioman even further.
All in all, given above, it would make a lot of sense to secure your Tioman hotel room and your Tioman ferry seats early on for the 2018 Hari Raya Puasa Holidays.
We wish you a Selamat Hari Raya Puasa!
Claim your hotel room by clicking on the below Hari Raya Puasa dates.
You'll instantly see the hotel availability.
Incidentally, just one more thing to keep an eye on. Please note that nowadays, the number of available rooms of Tioman's hotels, resorts, bed and breakfasts etc exceeds the number of available ferry tickets to Tioman. The reason is that over the recent years, quite a few new hotels have been built in Tioman. However, the ferry has not been to keep up with this growing number of rooms, because the maximum number of daily ferry crossings is actually restricted by the low water levels in the Mersing harbour and river mouth. In short, to be safe, we recommend making certain that you book your ferry tickets early. The last thing you want is getting caught stranded in Mersing with a hotel booking confirmed but no ferry ticket to make it there.
